After a short period of mindless panic, we finally opened our new shop on Saturday. It is in our favourite retail location in Shrewsbury; Wyle Cop, nestled alongside many other independent shops - a real must see for anyone visiting the town. We’re proud to take our place alongside so many long established, quality ‘indies’ and hope we’ll do the location justice.
The building we occupy dates back to the 1720s, but we’ve been lucky that the premises are in an excellent condition. We literally assembled our shelving, loaded up our stock and were ready to start trading.
Saturday itself went in a blur - we’d no expectations but were thrilled to be busy all day - with plenty of replenishment of stock needed. Adding to the enjoyment of the day, we offered free tastings of Birmingham Brewing Company’s sober brummie on draught - hitting the spot for many new to alcohol free beer.
We’ve also added new products to our range, following a successful trip to the ‘Low2noBev’ trade show in London. Some great beers from the Wolf in Sheep's Clothing and Only With Love breweries now sit in our shelves and on our online shop.
Finally, we’ve taken the decision to widen our alcohol-free offering beyond craft beer and we’re sourcing AF spirits etc. As with our beer selection, we’d rather deal with small independent producers who don’t necessarily supply the supermarkets - any recommendations would be gratefully received.
